Van, I can't help but be surprised that I didn't hear any reference to slavery on tonight's Crossfire... Aren't the arguments in support of Sea World (and zoos in general) the same that might be used to justify slavery? After all, the animals at large live a more safe and "comfortable" life than they would in the wild, right? It seems to me that one legitimate benefit of these parks is helping injured wild animals and sea life.... That being the case, the parks and zoos should be transformed into animal hospitals, not captive centers. As far as the awareness they promote for conservation, does enslaving a few animals justify this?
