Americans are facing a crisis in government that has parallels in the American revolution of the 18th century; taxation without proper representation. How have we gotten to the point that it is considered acceptable that all politicians lie in order to get elected? Each election brings less relief and more broken promises... We are no longer represented in any manner that could be considered congruent to our needs. We are fed talking points by the corporate controlled media to hurl past each other and in so doing alienate ourselves from our fellow Americans, thereby dividing and distracting ourselves for the conquering corporations to continue their insidious takeover of our government ; piece by bought and paid for legislative piece, rendering us a Corporatocracy - The Amalgamated States Of America.... The Fire - 50/50 tax on all lobbying and campaign contributions, 5013c's, super pacs, and any other trickery they come up with. In order to obstruct the onslaught of the oligarchs, I propose that all lobbying payments must be matched with payments of exact proportion, henceforth referred to as the “Lobby for the People matching clause” whereby the money collected goes directly to social safety net programs. Maybe every registered lobbiest could be held legally responsible for the reporting of said payments to the IRS, who would face jail time for defrauding the American taxpayer for any nondisclosure. And while we’re at it- why not matching payments for campaign contributions as well in order to maintain equal access to government, the money would go to fund citizen initiatives and guardian groups such as the EPA and Elizabeth Warrens CFPB among others. Unlike the current system that allows Karl Rove and his ilk to start up tax free "social welfare groups" that spew hatred, that system would be scraped in favor of actual social welfare, for every dollar spent on television ads, a dollar would be spent on designated infrastructure - bridges, roads, schools, libraries, college scholarships, etc.
