I am from Jamaica and lived through this model during the 70's under the Micheal Manley regime and saw up front how this model destroyed some aspects of the economy,eg,sugar industry, bauxite, tourism and more. There was a massive brain drain as it also caused the collapse of the middle class which no longer existed,it was the have's and the have nots that were left.It is said this model is a cousin to communism and it's the equal distribution of poverty, other than Sweden I do not know of any country where this model is successful. Would love to discuss.
